K. S. Lewis (Kay), began journaling and writing short stories as a child, where she often chronicled her daily life as the oldest of five siblings in very modest surroundings.
Growing up, Kay developed a flair for planning events, which manifested into a career as an event planner for colleges and universities, non-profits, private organizations, and private clients. She began working with special events while still in graduate school, designing and editing stationery for weddings. She quickly became fascinated with planning, and continued on to produce events through two companies, Kreative Mylestones (with a partner), and Maximized Events (solely), alongside her posts at East Carolina and Duke Universities respectively. Over the years, she has had wonderful opportunities to plan fantastic events with numerous celebrities, dignitaries, renowned poets and all around fantastic people!
After years of creating memorable events, Kay turned her focus on writing in 2015 when she published her debut novel, The Game According to Life. Her heartfelt story discusses the journey of a woman called Life, and her interactions with family, friends and love interests as they relate to playing a game. Kay followed the work in early 2017 with the thoughtful, Love Notes for Life, a little black book of short and sweet prose offering quick whips on navigating relationships successfully. Kay is passionate about healthy, authentic relationships, and uses her writing as a platform to help others begin conversations on the subject. She regularly shares encouraging viewpoints and interesting perspectives on her blog and social media outlets.
Her love for helping others operate in healthy love scenarios led her to start the Kicks & Giggles Show podcast on BlogTalkRadio in 2016. The provocative blend of hosts, guests and topics proves to be a fitting complement to late night conversation. In the summer of 2017, she released the first season of Love Dish™, a YouTube series uniquely offering the best of relationship’s hot topic interviews with well-known guests, while cooking a signature dish.
Kay has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication/Public Relations, and a Master of Arts in Technical and Professional Communication, both from East Carolina University, in Greenville, NC. She currently lives in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, where she spends time writing and enjoying her amazing daughter.
